You don’t last 40 years in the remodeling industry without developing a lot of good habits. At Parrish Construction, safety is one of them. The Boulder, Colo., design/build company uses several safety-related checklists based on the type of job it’s doing. A mainstay is its Jobsite Inspection Checklist, part of which is shown here (click the link at the bottom of the page to see the complete form). The checklist identifies potential hazards before the job starts.

“All safety compliance documents are saved indefinitely in an OSHA folder,” company president Larry Parrish says. “In addition, safety training is meticulously documented and filed for new employees and on an ongoing basis. I hate all the paperwork, but one benefit is greatly reduced worker’s comp insurance premiums.”
