Last year, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation and the U.S. Green Building Council formed a partnership to create nationwide green residential remodeling guidelines for existing homes.
Named “ Regreen,” the program addresses the major elements of any green renovation project, including siting, water efficiency, energy use, materials, and indoor environmental quality, and now recognizes those individuals who have gone through its educational programming with a “Regreen Trained” certificate. Certificate holders also receive recognition on three websites: RegreenProgram.org, ASID.org, and GreenHomeGuide.org, and have access to Regreen-Trained logos for use on websites, business cards, letterhead, and marketing materials.
To attain certification, professionals must complete the following: two hours of 100-level courses, eight hours of 200-level, 14 hours of 300-level, and three hours of elective courses. Classes are offered in various formats, including webinars, online courses, and workshops.
The ASID is currently accepting requests from organizations to host 100- and 300-level courses. Providers across the country arrange and host the elective courses.
