With quarterly reports, such as the most recent Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA), showing homeowners are spending increasingly more money on home improvement projects, companies are developing project management tools to help through the process. Today, software company Buildshop launched its free building and remodeling software, which provides web and mobile apps that will allow homeowners to plan, budget, find, and connect with building professionals.

To make the overall process of remodeling easier on homeowners, Buildshop can help find qualified contractors and compare their bids. Once the work begins, the tool can share ideas, make to-do lists, organize uploaded photos, and control spending.

"Buildshop is a game changer for homeowners looking to build or remodel," said Shawn Pace, co-founder of the company, in a press release. "As a builder, I've personally seen the negative effects poor planning, lack of communication, and poor organization can have on a project. Buildshop offers free premium tools and building tips that will help homeowners enjoy a more successful remodeling experience every time."

In addition to the homeowner app, Buildshop also offers paid software for the professional designers, builders, remodelers, or contractors. For as little as $1.66/day, the packages are built with tools that will help organize a company's projects.
