Sunflare’s new solar energy offering aims to serve as an alternative to traditional silicon solar racks on metal roofs. To accomplish this, the LiteMount system offers a durable series of solar modules that weigh less than one pound per square foot installed – or approximately one-fourth of most silicon framed panels, according to the manufacturer.
“Our mission is to reduce CO2, so it’s imperative to find innovative ways to go where traditional solar can’t,” says Philip Gao, CEO of Sunflare. “At almost four pounds per square foot, silicon is too heavy to be installed on many metal roofs.
The modules are rated to handle a wind-load of up to 42 pounds per square foot and a snow load of up to 33 pounds per square foot. Because the modules have no glass coating, they are shatter-proof, and their light weight and composition makes them easier to carry and install, according to the manufacturer.
Much like the Sunflare Flex60 modules, the LiteMount modules have bypass diodes at every cell, which allow the panel to stay active in any level of sunlight, except full shade. The system carries a 25-year warranty, and is UL and IEC certified. sunflaresolar.com
