With visual differentiation becoming more difficult for window and patio-door brands, it is becoming more important for manufacturers and retailers to focus on product messaging and customer service during the purchase and installation process, according to J.D. Power's 2019 Window and Patio Door Satisfaction Study. For many customers, it is difficult to distinguish between two window brands, so manufacturers and retailers must go a step beyond to make their product stand out.
To continue to increase customer satisfaction, the focus must be on the contact points with the customer from crafting simple, helpful, and effective messaging to attentive and efficient sales and installation processes," Christina Cooley, At Home Intelligence Lead at J.D. Power, said in a public statement.
J.D. Power's manufacturer brand segment measures satisfaction among customers based on performance in three factors: appearance and design, operational performance and durability, and warranty. Infinity from Marvin ranked the highest in customer satisfaction, followed by Renewal by Andersen and American Craftsman.
The J.D. Power Windows and Patio Doors Satisfaction Study is based on survey responses from 2,913 customers who purchased windows or patios doors within the past 12 months. The study was fielded between January and May 2019.
