The Home Depot named Chervon's Ego brand as the home-improvement retailer's Environmental Partner of the Year for the brand's efforts towards developing a lithium battery than makes lawn care more convenient and environmentally responsible.
Ego's 56V ARC Lithium battery replaces heavy carbon-emitting combustible engines and is used across the brand's entire line of cordless outdoor power equipment. The battery features in Ego's blowers, mowers, chain saws, and hedge trimmers. Ego also helps prevent 17 million gallons of gas from being spilled annually by Americans filling lawn equipment, according to a news release from Home Depot. The Ego product line is available exclusively at Home Depot.
“The working relationship with Chervon is great because we have the same goals: great quality products with less of an impact on the environment. Products that customers can afford, and products that customers want,” says Ron Jarvis, vice president of environmental innovation at Home Depot.
Jarvis said Home Depot is committed to giving customers the opportunity to positively impact the world and the retailer is "grateful" to product suppliers such as Chervon/EGO who "make it possible to do the right thing." The home-improvement retailer has previously honored Kellogg Garden Products, Shaw Industries, and Trex as its Environmental Partner of the Year.
