NAHB Opposes New Building Code

The NAHB has urged its members to oppose a new National Fire Protection Agency model building code, reviving a debate between the two associations over stair tread and riser standards. The NFPA 5000, issued in August 2002, requires a minimum tread depth of 11 inches and a maximum riser height of 7 inches for both residential and commercial buildings. More

ICBO Evaluation Service has introduced its ES Mark, a seal that signifies a product's compliance with major U.S. building codes.ICBO ES grants manufacturers the right to put the seal on a product after the organization has evaluated it and documented its compliance in an ES Report.
