Contrary to what you might have heard, you really can be everywhere at once.

Well, not quite. But Tim Britton of Tim Britton Construction, Falls Creek, Pa., tries to come as close as he can. Every week, he receives a completed inspection form from each jobsite. It gives him a "written photograph" of the site, so he's able to check up on a project without necessarily having to see it for himself.

Britton will occasionally fill one out when he's at a jobsite, but it's often the operations manger or a salesperson who completes the form. However, it's never a carpenter. "If you ask the lead, he'll tell you that 'Everything is OK,'" Britton says. "This form is our way of defining 'OK.'"
