Michigan Remodeler Joanne Theunissen was named the 2018 NAHB Remodelers Chair last week during the International Builder's Show.
Theunissen, a remodeler with 17 years of experience, previously served as president and board member of the Home Builders Association of Central Michigan and was the NAHB Professional Women in Building Woman of the Year in 2012. She was also formerly the Michigan state representative to the NAHB.
"The predicted continued growth in the remodeling sector yields many opportunities for remodelers," said Theunissen, owner of Howling Hammer Builders. "I look forward to representing remodelers' interests on issues such as labor shortages and building material price increases, while doing my best to help their businesses thrive."
Theunissen is a certified building analyst through the Building Performance Institute and a certified construction mediator through the Construction Mediation/Arbitration Institute. She is also an active member of the National Association of Professional Women and Women Construction Owners & Executives.
