Lowe's is planing to hire more than 53,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal associates across its more than 1,700 U.S. stores in anticipation of the busy spring season. To help fill the positions, the home-improvement retailer is rolling out several regional hiring events in the next three months, according to a news release.

Stores in Florida, southern California, Hawaii, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia will host walk-in hiring events in early January, as these states typically experience spring weather the earliest.

“Spring is the busiest season for home improvement projects and a great time to launch a new career at Lowe’s,” said Jennifer Weber, Lowe’s executive vice president, human resources. “As part of our strategy to better serve customers and operate our stores more efficiently, these hiring events will help us build the right teams at the right times across the U.S. to meet customer demand as they plan for spring.”

Lowe's will be looking to fill seasonal cashier, lawn and garden associate, stocker, and loader positions. The home-improvement retailer said seasonal positions typically run through the end of the summer months. Lowe's is also looking to fill full-time and part-time department supervisor, cashier, stocker, sale specialist, pro customer service associate, and merchandise service associate positions. During 2019, Lowe's took several steps to improve its pro customer experience, including launching initiatives to improve store-level customer service for pro customers, hiring dedicated pro loaders and pro associates, and deploying department supervisors at all pro areas of the store.
