The Home Depot is expanding its partnership with building-dimensions-app Hover by offering it to its pro customers at a discounted rate through its Pro Xtra contractor loyalty program. Home Depot participated in Series B funding for Hover in January of 2018, joining as an investor and strategic partner for the platform.
Hover allows users to obtain measurements and 3D models of home exteriors. Builders and remodelers can take photos with their smartphones and receive measurements for siding, roofing, windows, and doors within hours. Hover's interactive 3D modeling is customizable, allowing users to see what homes would look like with different colors and products during a remodel.
Home Depot is offering a 25% discount to pros through its Pro Xtra contractor loyalty program. According to the home improvement retailer, Hover users see an increase in the size of jobs sold and closing rates. Home Depot estimates pros can save roughly two hours of time estimating when using Hover.
San Francisco-based Hover received a $25 million Series C funding round in April, bringing the platform's total funding to $87 million. In addition to The Home Depot, investors include Google Ventures, Standard Industries, GAF, and Beacon Roofing Supply. Hover also partnered with financing platform Mosaic in June, a move that the digital home renovation marketplace said would give contractors the ability to offer customers access to financing directly through the Hover platform.
