One of the hottest trends in kitchen design is the addition of stacked trim to wall cabinets. You can use Planit Fusion software to automatically add this graphic to your designs in a simplified procedure in two layers of the program, and then use the drawings you create to help sell your value as a kitchen designer to your clients. Here's how:
- Step 1: Begin by adding your cabinetry to the design as usual.
- Step 2: Open the Place menu and click on Auto Features.
- Step 3: Set the trim nomenclature in the dropdown menu (here LM — linear molding) and click OK.
- Step 4: Once the trim is added, and while still highlighted on the plan, choose Change, Lock Selection.
- Step 5: Return to the Auto Features menu and set your next trim (for example, CM — crown molding) and click OK.
- Step 6: Accept any clashes by clicking OK. Your second line of trim is now inside the first level by way of the Lock Selection feature.
- Step 7: Now, simply raise the highlighted CM the height of the previous piece of trim (here 2 9/16-inches). To do so, open the Mover Palette, click on the far left Up arrow, and set the distance. Click OK to raise the trim above the previous level. Using this method, you can stack as many levels of trim as space will permit.
- Repeat as necessary.
Generating elevation and perspective views will enhance your sales presentation.
