Paul Kowalski and his team has simplified the selections process for their clients by creating three specific design tiers customers can choose from. The packages are pre-priced to show homeowners how much they would spend, as well as how much more it would cost to move from one level to the next.
Kowalski says that before they introduced tier pricing, the design process was bogging down because there were too many options. “We have eight flavors and can reduce the stress for the homeowner,” he says.
Though clients are selecting from a package, they have a variety of options within each tier. For items like faucets, there may be fewer options, whereas for tile, there may be many more. This way, the selections still seem customized to a particular homeowner.
Custom work isn’t out of the realm of possibilities, either. For example, the company is an authorized distributor for two cabinet lines that can create custom cabinetry. So, if a client has a special need, it’s possible to satisfy it.
The packages were not created based on price point alone. A designer put the packages together based on design trends, knowledge, and historical data as well.
The company converted to the design-build model a little over a year ago, which helped Paul Kowalski Builders better serve its clients. This way, the company keeps everything in-house so that customers are not shuffled from one place to another.
