In 2016, Gilbert Design Build needed to make a change. At that time, the firm had been part of a franchise for 10 years, and it was growing beyond what the franchise could provide. The company was creating its own relationships and system that would help it to achieve the growth it expected to have. Kayla Buckson, Gilbert’s marketing coordinator, adds that some new policies the franchise was instituting didn’t mesh with the company’s best interest. So the company left the franchise.
The company took a bit of a financial hit to pay for the rebranding efforts to become Gilbert Design Build; Buckson calls those costs an investment in the company’s future.
To aid its efficiency as a new company, Gilbert hired a new production manager. Another investment was in a new showroom, which opened in Sarasota, Fla., in 2016. Gilbert’s original showroom is 13 miles north, in Bradenton, Fla. Between the two showrooms, Gilbert services an area of 800,000 people.
The design centers have everything homeowners may need in their new remodel. Each showroom has bathroom and kitchen vignettes. Buckson adds that the Sarasota showroom is “strategically located” to better service the company’s ideal customers. With these new additions and changes in place, the company is poised to prosper in the future.
