Much has changed since Hughes Kitchens & Bath  started laminating countertops and refacing cabinets more than 60 years ago. Today, owner Michael Pierce has refocused the service menu while maintaining the high-end customer attention. “I love the idea of offering a five-star experience,” he says. “We create an event from start to finish.”

The majority of the company’s labor is in-house, so Pierce can guarantee the quality of the work. The company’s attention to detail has earned it a following among homeowners. “Our clients will say, ‘You can remodel my kitchen, but it has to be with Bob,’” Pierce says. Clients have a single point of contact on the sales staff throughout a remodel, though on-staff designers are available at any time to answer questions or help with product selections. This way, a client gets immediate attention even if their sales rep is unavailable when they call. “We never want someone to think we’re too busy for them,” Pierce says.
