Anthony Cerami says he survived the early '90s by doing any kind of job he could get -- and "as much marketing as possible." Today, the company he heads has a clearer focus. It does additions and major renovations, stroking clients in his market with above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty measures such as upgraded materials, a No Punch List system, and a homeowner's manual. Cerami also conducts a post-job walkthrough a month after the project is finished that smooths whatever wrinkles might have developed in finishing up. "We want the homeowner to think his is the only job we have," Cerami says.
