The 2017 Remodeling Design Awards are officially open for entries! We're pleased to introduce the four industry experts who will pick the winners for 2017:
- Karman Hotchkiss is executive editor for shelter products at Better Homes and Gardens’ Special Interest media. She lives in Des Moines, Iowa, and served on the judging panel for the awards last year.
- Matt Thackray is a project manager at Carney Logan Burke Architects in Jackson Hole, Wyo. He managed Yellowbell, our 2016 Design Awards Project of the Year.
- Melinda Dzinic is co-owner of Euro-Design Build/Remodel in Richardson, Texas. Her firm, which specializes in residential renovation, was a Big50 company in 2014.
- Andy Apter owns Apter Remodeling in Annapolis, Md. His firm specializes in high-end custom work, and he is active in the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. He was a Big50 member in 2013.
The Remodeling Design Awards celebrates achievements by remodelers and design/build firms across the country. We organize the award entries into 9 categories, with 19 subcategories based on job type and price. Entries may win a Merit Award, Grand Award, or Project of the Year. There is no maximum or minimum number of awards that the judges can bestow.
Award recipients (see last year's winners) will be featured in the October issue of REMODELING as well as online, through videos, in our e-newsletters, in our project gallery, and via social media. A select number of winners also will be featured in lengthier articles throughout the year.
