Kitchens and baths top the list of projects for homeowners, so it makes sense that 96% of the top 300 full-service firms on the 2018 Remodeling 550 perform those kinds of projects.
It also appears that the full-service firms, unsurprisingly, are more likely to complete larger scale projects than they are specialty projects. Whole house remodeling (92%), room additions (89%), and basement finishing (73%) are the second, third, and fourth most popular types of work. Specialty and replacement work, such as siding and roofing replacements, are performed by less than 50% of the firms.
Health-related types of work are also making incremental gains: 2% more firms report that aging-in-place improvements as services to clients in 2017 than in 2016. In addition, 5% more firms offer indoor air quality upgrades in 2017 than in 2016.
We will release the 2018 Remodeling 550 list on May 23. On that day, visit remodeling.hw.net/benchmarks/remodeling-550 to see the list and find out where your company ranks.
