Ten of the 13 benefits we ask about in our 2018 Remodeling 550 survey showed increases when comparing responses to the 2017 survey. (Note that the companies in the two years vary slightly.)
Disability insurance saw the biggest increase: 18% more firms offered the benefit than last year. Health insurance showed a more modest increase at 4%. The biggest decrease in offerings was for a company mobile phone, with 7% fewer firms offering the benefit.
These increases could indicate that firms are now making more money and therefore have more resources to devote to things like healthcare, paid time off (both vacation and sick days), and retirement plans.
