Michael Sauri of TriVistaUSA in Arlington, Va., has won the 2018 Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year award. Sauri received the award, which includes a $10,000 first-prize check, at an awards dinner and gala during the Remodelers Advantage & Remodeling Summit in New Orleans on Sept. 26.

The three finalists for this year's award were also honored: Beth Rhoades and Andrew Lethin of C&R Remodeling in Salem, Ore.; Wright Marshall of Revival Construction in Atlanta, Ga.; and Bill Haussler and Chris Otte of Legacy Builders Group in Cincinnati, Ohio. Each finalist, plus Sauri, received a plaque and a $2,500 prize.

This is the 12th anniversary of the award, established by Fred Case in 2006 to honor remodeling industry leaders who demonstrate excellent business acumen, company financial strength, community and industry involvement, and entrepreneurial spirit. The award is open to remodeling company leaders doing $5 million or less in annual gross remodeling volume and recognizes specific individuals, not a company. This is the only industry award of its kind in that a cash prize is awarded to finalists as well as to the winner.

TriVistaUSA is a 13-year old design-build firm that posted $4.37 million in revenue in 2017. Sauri impressed the judges with his firm's constant improvement and growth. This improvement manifested when the firm revamped its entire process after growing from a $1.2 million firm four years. Sauri's 20-minute design charrette with his entire team after a project also resonated with the judges.
