Perhaps the one positive in this trend is the proliferation of shows that deal with interior decorating and home improvement. Now Spanish-language station Telemundo is getting into the act, having launched a weekly half-hour show titled Asi Se Hace, which loosely translates to “That's How It's Done.” According to news reports, the show takes the familiar angle of a surprise, one-room makeover for a loved one of a viewer of the show.
Census data indicate that minorities are accounting for a growing share of both the new and existing home buying markets, with Hispanics the fastest growing segment of that population. As Hispanics are now the most populous minority in the United States, that trend can be expected to continue, making the Hispanic market one of the most important to remodelers for years to come.
