    Hy-Lite. Solar Block Plus acrylic block windows have a smoke-colored tint that protects homes from UV rays and makes the windows more energy efficient. The Energy Star–rated products measure 2 inches thick and have a solar heat gain coefficient of less than .34 when used in vinyl windows and .40 when used in aluminum. They are available as fixed or operable casement or awning windows in a variety of sizes.

The Primo Collection of vinyl windows come standard with double-strength low-E glass, but the line may also be upgraded with an Energy Saver Plus package that includes insulating glass with Super Spacer thermoset structural foam and argon gas between the panes. Offering U-factors of as low as 0.18, and solar heat gain coefficients of 0.23, the windows qualify for federal tax credits. Windquest EP windows come standard with a special combination of LoE coatings to optimize U-value, visible tranmittance, solar heat gain coefficient, and external appearance. Other triple-glazed LoE options are available to meet passive solar design requirements. A full range of design options are available, icnlduing divided lites. Available in white or beige, the windows can be color-coated on the exterior with a polyurethane finish.

    Velux. The maker's new No-Leak Skylight features a 'deck seal' that provides an air and water barrier for leak-proof installation. The 1 1/4-inch flange/bracket sits directly on the roof deck, eliminating gaps to keep water out. An adhesive underlayment and pre-engineered flashing system help keep joints watertight and move water down and away from the opening.     Weather Shield. This casement window is made from heavy-duty mat and roving fiberglass that resists scratching and will not warp, rot, or become brittle in any conditions. Outfitted with the manufacturer’s Zo-e-shield 5 glazing packages, it will achieve a U-factor of 0.28 and solar heat gain coefficient of 0.18.
