    Many of the maker's laminates now feature Aeon enhanced performance technology. Aluminum oxide particles are dispersed in the melamine resin and applied to the surface during the Aeon treatment process. Aluminum oxide helps strengthen the surface against wear, and bolsters the stone-like appearance. On Wilsonart HD High Definition laminates, the Aeon process boosts abrasion levels to four times the industry standard, the maker says.
