Chicago's historic Merchandise Mart for the annual NeoCon tradeshow was held last week where bold and colorful furniture, textiles, and flooring products lined the crowded halls. ARCHITECT assistant editor of products Selin Ashaboglu showcases a few of the staff's favorite product picks, chosen for their versatility and on-trend aesthetics.
Products that stood out included Munich-based designer Konstantin Grcic's Hack versatile desking system for Vitra with a table surface that can be folded up for storage or converted into seating for a couch.
Herman Miller's Plex modular workplace lounge system can transform into armchairs, sofas, ottomans, and benches for individual or group settings. It also comes with integrated USB and power ports.
For tiles, the team enjoyed flooring company Tarkett's Riot Flora, which replicates an image of flowers in digitally printed pixels.
