On the floor of the combined Remodeling Show, DeckExpo, and JLC Live event in Chicago this week, new products abound from railing manufacturers. Here's a look at a handful of the new railings our editors spotted during the first day of the show. Look for more from-the-show product roundups coming soon.
AGS Stainless introduced a new vertical cable rail and a clever dealer kiosk for its ExpressRail line, but this beauty really caught our eye. The metal mesh infill railing panels can be capped with flat or rounded rails. Welded connections on all the maker's railing systems make for solid construction. agsstainless.com
Azek & Timbertech recently introduced the Impression Rail powder-coated aluminum railing with classic wrought iron aesthetics minus the labor and expense. Each railing section takes as little as 5 minutes to install thanks to balusters that snap into the top and bottom rails. azek.com
Long & Lean
Fiberon’s Symmetry railing system is now available in some markets. The maker says Symmetry is the only railing system that offers a 12-foot-long continuous stretch of railing. The capped composite railing comes in three colors: tranquil white, serene black, and simply brown. fiberon.com
One visitor to the Fortress Railing booth took less than one minute to install the maker's new vertical cable railing system. The cables come pre-strung onto the top and bottom rails so installers can use a socket wrench to quickly tighten down the hex nuts. Choose wood or metal posts and a variety of rail options to finish the sleek look. fortressrailing.com
What’s next for railing? LMT Products, a supplier of lighting units to the railing industry, has come out with a strip of LED lights that can be cut to size and glued to the bottom of a rail. The product uses simple plug-in connectors and a voltage converter and doesn’t need an electrician to install. lmtproducts.com
