New products from Fiberon, Flexible Floor Systems, Hitachi, Rais, Superior Polymer Products, Tru-Pro Products, and WAC Lighting.

Fiberon. Sensibuilt PVC decking has been tested and approved by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Office to reduce property loss during wildfires. Suitable for installation in Wildland Urban Interface zones that call for ingnition-resistant construction materials and building practices, Sensibuilt decking contains no wood or other organic material. In addition to meeting or exceeding requirements for under deck flame, and other fire-safety requirements, the materials holds a Class A flame spread index, and will also resist mold and insects. 800.573.8841.

Flexible Floor Systems. Rubberized safety surfaces popular around commercial playgrounds and waterparks are becoming a residential trend for use around pools and play areas. Pebble-Flex Safety Surfacing is fade-resistant and will not degrade from UV exposure, the maker says. The rubber-based material can be installed directly over concrete, tile, or asphalt, eliminating tear-out expenses. A two-layer system is also available, comprising a cushion of 100% recycled rubber beneath the Pebble-Flex top coat. A range of colors is available, and each installation can be customized with initials, logos, or other graphics. 910.790.7903

Hitachi. The NT50AF 2-inch T&L Pneumatic Flooring Nailer accepts up to 150 T- or L-shaped 16-gauge cleats from 1 3/16 inches up to 2 inches, for installation of ½-inch or ¾-inch domestic solid wood flooring. The tool’s Preferred Seating System helps ensure accurate placement of each cleat at the proper angle and depth to produce straight boards and secure tongue-and-groove flooring. The oil-lubricated tool weighs only 9 pounds, but features a high-strength aluminum housing for durability through continuous use. Also included with the nailer are a non-marring hammer and accessory shoe pads to prevent damage to flooring during installation. The NT50AF is one of five new flooring nailers and staplers in the maker’s product line. 800.706.7337.

Rais. Eligible for a 30% federal tax credit, up to $1,500, the Rais 60 Fireplace System combines sleek Scandinavian design with high-efficiency performance. The biomass-burning stove consists of a wood combustion firebox and metal zero-clearance installation enclosure. The unit offers heat output from 10,000 to 27,000 Btu, with an 1,100-square-foot average heating capacity and low smoke emissions. Weighing 225 pounds, the Rais 60 Fireplace System measures 27½ inches wide, 17 5/8 inches high, and 22 5/8 inches deep, with interior dimensions of 20 7/8 inches wide, 13 inches high, and 13 ¾ inches deep. Available in black or gray. 888.724.7789.

Superior Polymer Products. Designed specifically for furring out block or poured-concrete walls, the EcoStud is produced from recycled resin, making it rot-, rust-, corrosion-, mold-, and termite-resistant. The system provides a thermal break when attached directly to exterior concrete or block. EcoStud can be used with all forms of insulation, however, when used with spray-applied, high-density, closed cell foam, it provides a continuous moisture barrier and insulation package, the maker says. Available in 8-, 10-, or 12-foot lengths, EcoStud is available in 1.5- or 3.5-inch depths and can be spaced 16 or 24 inches on center. Each piece features a perforated nailing strip and pre-cut holes for wiring and plumbing. 877.586.5543.

Tru-Pro Products. The patented two-piece foot plate on new Tru-Stride Drywall Stilts creates an “ankle” with heal-to-toe movement that translates to a smooth, natural stride. The heel and toe plates also provide greater stability, since one plate is in full contact with the ground at all times, the maker says. The natural walking motion also requires less energy from the wearer, limits calf pressure, and allows for walking uphill, downhill, and on stairs. The aluminum-constructed stilts are available in 15- to 23-inch, 18- to 30-inch, and 24- to 40-inch heights. 205.664.5355.

WAC Lighting. The maker’s Multiple Spots lighting line has been expanded with new trimless styles. A flangeless trim and seamless corners offer minimal edge detailing. Each trimless fixture comes complete with spackle to ensure a smooth ceiling finish and a clean look. The metal halide reflector lamp ES16 combines high output with good light quality and energy efficiency in a compact package. Offered in a white trimless finish, the spots offer 25-degree tilt adjustment. Each lighting element is individually adjustable with minimal extension below the ceiling plane. 800.526.2588.
