New Products for Outdoor Living Spaces

Nearly Natural
Get the natural looks of stone or aged wood without the maintenance. Durakek introduced two new textures to its Legacy line: pebble beach and barnwood and driftwood. These waterproof, slip-resistant PVC membranes have a one-step application process. From a distance, they look exactly like the natural surfaces they mimic.

Water and Fire
The Evolution 360 by Hearth Products Controls Company (HPC) is not your average fire pit. It combines the soothing sound of a running fountain with the warmth of fire and stylish blue LED lights. The plug-in-play system comes fully assembled and has its own self-contained filtrated water system, and wall switch operation for all three elements. It’s also energy efficient.

Culinary Coyote
Serious grillers will delight in the Coyote CCX4 by Coyote Outdoor Living. The 36 inch gas grill has four burners, 80,000 BTUs, a double-walled hood, and stainless heat control grids with 875 square inches of cooking space. Interior lights make it easy to grill after dark, and a warming rack ensures food won’t cool before it’s served. The CCX4 goes for an MSRP of $1599, which includes a lifetime warranty on its high performance 304 stainless steel.

Paradise Pavilion
Walpole Outdoors announced its new pavilion line, Hillside Pavilion, at this year’s IBS. Designed to protect against the elements, Hillside’s beams, fascia, and soffits are made of cellular PVC with optional fiberglass columns. Available in 17 sizes ranging from eight by eight feet to 16 by 24 feet, the pavilions can safely house fans and electronics, bringing inside comforts outdoors. Roof options include standing seam aluminum (available in several paint colors), standing seam copper, standing seam patina copper, and cedar shingle. Decorative brackets, lattice panels, arches, drop shades, dentil molding, and fretwork, give design-build professionals tools to fit the needs of each project.

Reliable Rails
Durability meets simplicity in the Westbury Aluminum Railing C80 VertiCable by Digger Specialties Inc. The new line offers one-eighth-inch vertical 316 SS cables, which don’t block views, with nine-sixteenth-inch round balusters to ensure durability. C80 VertiCable has a clean look because there are no cable tensioners or fasteners. Sections come pre-assembled in 36 inch or 42 inch heights and 4 foot, five foot, and eight foot lengths.

Fireside Dining
Fire products extend outdoor time in regions with chilly spring and fall temperatures. The new Pine Ridge Collection by The Outdoor GreatRoom Company lets diners feel the heat while they eat. Gas fire pit tables are available in two sizes, linear with a 12 by 24 inch burner or square with a 24 by 24 inch burner. Both use a stainless steel UL listed Crystal Fire burner, and are made out of safe, durable outdoor materials. The faux barnwood supercast top also comes with a matching burner cover.

Tie it Together
The new DTT1Z deck tension tie by Simpson Strong-Tie saves time without sacrificing safety. Fastened from the outside of the house instead of attaching to floor joists from the inside, DTT1Z meets new 2015 International Residential Code provision (section R507.2.4) standards. It attaches to the narrow or wide face of a single 2x with Strong-Drive SD Connector screws, which secure the tension tie a minimum of three inches into the structure. ZMAZ coating provides extra protection against corrosion.

Smart Tub
Jacuzzi’s new J-500 Hot Tub Collection combines sleek modern design with state-of-the-art technology. The above-ground hot tub has duel waterfalls, which are illuminated by its lighting design, and eight color choices for the acrylic interior shell. Homeowners can adjust settings with a ProTouch Glass Control Screen and a smartphone app will be available to monitor and warm the tub remotely.  J-500 will also debute Jacuzzi's new PowerPro directional jet system, which targets hydromassage to a particular area, such as the hips.

What's Not to Louver?
Constructed of extruded aluminum, the Equinox Louvered Roof Systems help protect outdoor living spaces from the elements when closed, and provides ventilation and just the right amount of sunlight when open. Each louver interlocks with the other, so rain is deflected to gutters at the perimeter of the roof. Open and close the system with a handy remote control.
