An outdated kitchen gets a stylish makeover, making it functional for entertaining and family life.
Part of a whole-house renovation that included an additional floor and a seismic retrofit, this 200-square-foot kitchen gained improved circulation with a three-foot-wide addition.
Custom cabinets are painted in a warm metallic pewter and fully integrated with the modlings, lending a sense of sophistication and unifying the surfaces.
The previous kitchen "had this awkward pinch," says architect Anne Adams. "The peninsula backed up to the fridge, so the spot where everyone congregated was right there."
