KBIS 2011 Day 3

New products at the 2011 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show from Blum, Delta, Enkeboll, Hanwha, Kohler, Panasonic, and QuARTz by ACO.

Blum. Aventos lift systems allow doors to open easily, stop at any position, and close easily using the maker's Blumotion technology. When open, cabinet doors don't obstruct or hinder working in the space. If the door is inadvertantly opened too high, a button mounted at an easy-to-reach height inside the cabinet means users can close the door without having to stretch or strain. 704.827.1345. www.blum.com.—L.H.

Delta. Wave a toothbrush within the 4-inch sensing field of the Addison lavatory faucet with Touch2Oxt technology and rinse hands-free--the next evolution of the tap-on Touch2O technology the company debuted in its kitchen faucet line. Available on select bath models, the techology turns the water off or on with the bump of a wrist or forearm in Touch2O mode or by sensing motion in Touch2Oxt mode preventing gel, toothpaste, shaving cream, or other bathroom messes from dirtying faucet handles. 800.345.3358. www.deltafaucet.com.—E.R.

Enkeboll. Nine available metallic finishes can help designers think differently about the maker's expertly carved interior trim pieces. Here, the finish sets off a traditional pattern among several linear moldings built up for added drama. The company worked with interior designer David Dalton to create this and other combinations that use trim in more unique, thoughtful ways, such as furniture construction, mirror frames, and in larger sizes to add weight, detail, and drama to a room. 800.745.5507. www.enkeboll.com.—L.H.

Hanwha L&C Surfaces. Bold shades of lime, plum, and aquamarine are included in the maker's newest HanStone Quartz color introductions. Royale blanc (a pure white,) limelight, slice of ice (shown), purple haze, and ultra violet were created to let designers create dramatic effects by blending bold tones into a variety of design styles and color palettes. 888.426.9421. www.hanwhasurfaces.com.—L.H.

Kohler. Hi-tech to the last eco-conscious feature, the Numi toilet brings ultimate customization to the toilet experience with an LCD touch-screen remote that flushes, illuminates the toilet, plays music, activates a retractable bidet, and even warms users' feet at the press of a button. The WaterSense-certifed fixture measures how long pressure remains on the seat and will wash waste away with 0.6 gpf if less then one minute and 1.28 gpf if it senses pressure for longer. The toilet carries a 3-year limited warranty. 800.456.4537. www.kohler.com.—E.R.

Panasonic. Designed to anticipate condensation and automatically activate the maker’s ventilation fans, the WhisperControl Condensation Sensor detects hot air and humidity based on dew point. Unlike standard humidity sensors, which can cause fans to run too often and waste energy in some climates, dew point detection helps WhisperControl products operate more accurately and run only when necessary, regardless of climate. Choose from fan or fan/light combination units. The WhisperControl product line helps builders and remodelers meet ASHRAE 62.2, LEED for Homes, California Title 24, and other energy efficiency standards. 866.292.7292. www.panasonic.com/ventfans.—L.H.

QuARTz by ACO. Place QuARTz linear shower drains against the wall, in the center of the shower, or in place of a threshold for a seamless solution to draining the shower. The drains come in seven grate styles, six lengths, Electro polished stainless steel or oil-rubbed bronze finishes, an are compatible with any tile size, says the manufacturer. A water-activated LED in a variety of colors is also an option. 888.490.9552. www.quartzbyaco.com.—E.R.
