The existing storage room was next to the kitchen and adjacent to the mechanical room – the perfect spot for a cold environment.

Designer Sherry Hanan recommended mahogany as the dominant wood for its durability in humidity and its upscale appearance. The counter top on the right is made from the clients’ maple kitchen table. LED lighting is hidden under the cabinets. The copper shelving (on rear wall), backsplash and metal drawer liners were custom made by Corley Roofing & Sheet Metal. The floating cork floor is from WE Cork Avant Garde collection.

Behind a mesh grill is the WhisperKOOL self-contained chiller unit, which vents to the adjacent mechanical room, and keeps the temperature at an optimal 55 degrees. The wine racking system is by Vigilant Woodworks.

Below the racking system are a display shelf and pull out storage. Champagne corks as drawer pulls add a bit of whimsy.

Hanan & Lerner Fine Woodworking fabricated drawers for root vegetables and cheeses using wine crates for fronts. They added metal drawer liners for easy cleaning and sisal rope handles for a unique touch.
