Just in time for fall, we spotted a gray theme in our design award winners.
The kitchen, opposite the breakfast area has easy roof deck access via the NanaWall (www.nanawall.com). Traditional woodwork styling helps connect the modern with the traditional. Contractor Aaron Robinson made the cabinets.
Architect Rob Paulus incorporated the original fireplace in to the theater room wall. The large projection screen takes up one wall.
For this Merit award basement project, architect Treffle LaFleche specified a dark stain for the concrete floor and a custom concrete countertop with flecks of ground up copper wire. It's made by www.slab-lab.com. Since it is custom, it doesn't have a name, but concrete is gray, so for the purposes of this slideshow, we're going to call it ghost gray.
For this "marble box" bathroom design, DeRhodes Construction used honed Carrera marble throughout to lovely effect. Overhead recessed lighting by Lightolier (lightolier.com) illumates the space.
As part of the second phase of a whole-house remodel, DeRhodes Construction redesigned this master bathroom, incorporating custom features and details. On the marble wall of the vanity, two piece mirrors border a narrow window. The team mitered, beveled, and fabricated marble to give the impression of large columns and beams. Below, custom, hand-painted cabinetry provides storage.
Aspects of the villa's facade include Ludowici (ludowici.com) clay tile, Haddonstone for the exterior cast stone, terra cotta medallions by Saint Paul Fabricating (stpaulfab.com), and Marvin Ultimate windows (marvin.com).
