It won’t be too long before you and your customers will be dawning virtual reality headsets it seems. Lowe’s is currently piloting Microsoft’s HoloLens holographic virtual reality headset. Currently, virtual reality has only hit Seattle-area stores and will move onto Raleigh, N.C.

How does it work? Customers place the headset above their eyes and than can view options for kitchen cabinetry, countertops, appliances, backsplashes, and more right in front of them.

"In the future, consumers could view renovation options while inside their house, viewing holograms of custom kitchen cabinets and appliances within the home’s existing kitchen space, Microsoft said."
