Choosing the appliances that go into a new kitchen remodel is crucial. The so-called HGTV-effect, “more and more home owners and buyers are spending money to get the shiny, sparkling kitchens that are splashed across magazine pages and on television shows.” However, an easy way to change your kitchen is by adding new appliances. By updating your kitchen, spending $20,000 or $30,000, could add significant value to a home’s sale price. When you remodel, allocate funds towards appliances, but don’t go for the highest end technology or styles. If you do, those extra costs might not translate into more value. 

As you consider the appliances you are about to purchase, do your research on the appliances you want to replace. Take your time and look at the lifespan of a kitchen’s most common appliances with this useful chart provided by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.
