Luxury homes just keep finding new ways to one-up each other, and this time, it's a deck that descends into a pool.

Agor Creative Engineering designed a moveable floor system that uses a water-based hydraulic system to power the floor to move up to create a deck or down to reveal a pool. The flooring can descend to various levels, making a shallow pool for kids and deeper pools for adults. It also leaves in steps at the pool's edge. When the deck is fully raised, the floor supports 40 pounds per square foot.

Originally designed for luxury commercial uses, this deck-pool is now showing up in a few residences across the country. It gives homeowners the best of both worlds - deck in the chillier months and a pool in the hot summer. The average cost is $320 per square foot.
