The website The Disability Remodeler recently went live. This site will provide information as well as advice on finding contractors with experience in planning/carrying out remodels for homeowners who have either become disabled or have family members that are disabled.
NEWSWIRE's Brian Hanson spoke with the site's publisher, Sam DeMars, who said that the site is set up to help those in Washington state who typically don't realize how poorly their homes are equipped to help those in wheelchairs:
"A lot of houses aren't set up very well for a someone in a wheelchair or walker," she said, "And you usually don't realize it until you try doing it. But there are a few changes a person can do that will make a big difference in increasing someone's ease in moving around."
