Gary Chang of Edge Design Institute created functional designs for microunits before the microunit trend took off. He bought the 344-square-foot condo he shared with his parents and sister and turned it into a functioning space that can transform into 24 different rooms.

Chang can pull walls and furniture and make each space a new concept. The layout offers a bathroom with bathtub and shower that can become a steam room, a living room with hammock, and a kitchen complete with a sink, burners, dishwasher, and refrigerator. A walk in closet, dining room, laundry room, and a movie screen that doubles as a curtain are also included.

Each of the movable walls also double as storage, and Chang specifically left 180 square feet of space open to make the room feel larger. He can also control just about any device from his smart phone. Chang details the miraculous transformation in his book, "My 32m2 Apartment."
