About 45% of Americans home renovations have added or are adding smart home technology, according to the Houzz 2016 U.S. Smart Home Trends Study, released yesterday.

Among the 1,000 unique Houzz U.S. users polled, the most popular smart home technology upgrades have to do with devices that ensure home security.
