Texture and shape are taking center stage in new tile applications, Hanley Wood product editor Lauren Hunter says. From subtle ripples achieved through mosaics, to bold carved aesthetics with larger, sculptural tiles, designers can let their imaginations run wild on backsplashes, accent walls, and elsewhere.

In this article, Hunter highlights six new tiles that has come onto the scene. Some are shaped like triangles, while others take on three-dimensional shapes, and others still were inspired by origami.
