A Florida roofing contractor is facing severe OSHA fines for fall protection violations, again. Chris Sawdo Construction has been issued by OSHA with one repeated, one serious, and two willful citations. The company was also fined a total of $199,100 for unsafe fall protection and ladder safety practices. Earlier this year, the company was fined a $128,000 for similar violations. The company has been cited and fined for fall protection and ladder safety issues six times since 2004.
OSHA has been upping it enforcement game since penalties for fall protection and other OSHA violations changed in November 2015. Under the new assessment, OSHA’ has been upping its gain to a 78% hike.
