KB Home Florida LLC, John Whigham Sheeting Inc., Ezzo Construction LLC, and St. Augustine’s S.A. Robinson Construction - all located in Florida - face a total of $145,000 in fines from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). The infractions stem from workers not wearing fall protection on a work site in Jacksonville.
KB Home was issued a serious citation for exposing workers for falls up to 18 ft while John Whigham received a willful citation and Ezzo Construction and S.A. Robinson were each issued repeat citations:
“Florida home builders must understand that successful project management requires safety and production schedules as equally important,” Sturtecky said in a news release. “Unfortunately, this inspection is another example of multi-layers of construction management turning a blind eye to safety in the name of production.”
