  2. Do the homework by gathering the information from a real estate agent
  3. Hire a recommended general contractor that knows what they’re doing
  4. Consult with an interior designer to save you time and money
  5. Get everything in writing so you and your client know what the process of the remodeling project will be
  6. Be prepared for the unexpected as nothing is 100% predictable
  7. Ditch the traditional and go with a modern look
  8. Follow the rules by making sure you have the proper permits
