For the first time in history, NARI's COO and executive vice president is a woman.
Mary Busey Harris replaces Kevin McNulty, who resigned in January. Harris won't have to travel far to get to her new digs in Des Plaines, Ill.; she comes to NARI from Chicago's International Association for Human Resource Information, where she served as CEO. Previously, she held executive positions at real estate agent boards in Pennsylvania and California.
That prior experience was instrumental in her hiring. "Harris' background and leadership skills ... [will certainly] turn our visions of expanding education, growing our membership, and increasing consumer awareness into reality," Mark Brick, NARI president-elect, said in a press release.
Harris is impressed with the foundation that NARI has established. "I sincerely look forward to working with the association's leadership and staff to elevate NARI to the next critical stage of its development," she says.
