The National Association of Home Builders named Michael Menn of the Chicago area as its NAHB Remodeler of the Year.
The award, presented Oct. 6 in Baltimore during the Remodeling | Deck | JLC Show, recognizes pro remodelers who have devoted years to NAHB, the industry, and their community while also running a successful remodeling firm.
Menn founded Michael Menn Ltd. in 1987. He served in 2008 as chair of the Remodeler's Council at the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago and will be its chair again in 2017. He also has served as chairman of many NAHB Remodelers national subcommittees and served on its board of trustees. Outside of work, he has served the community of Northbrook, Ill., on several commissions and boards, and coached baseball in the community for a decade.
"Menn ... is known for his professionalism, honesty, and creativity," NAHB said in a statement. "He is respected by his industry peers and his customers, who commend his upfront business practices, setting realistic expectations, giving honest feedback. Menn only works with trade partners that share these values. Not only is he an effective businessman, but also a creative one, who has received numerous awards for his outstanding designs."
