Jonathan Barber — who grew up working on remodeling jobs with his father, Wayne, a 40-year remodeling veteran — majored in accounting in college and then decided to apply his talents to the family business. He joined Wayne and his mother, Shae, who has office management experience, to create Skye Builders (named after Jonathan’s daughter).
As they head into the future, the Barbers have increased their marketing budget and have invested in technology and training to create the best possible customer experience. For example, designers Michael Healey, Tyrone Noble, and Larry Enten use computer generated drawings in the home to immediately show prospects what the finished product could look like.
“I want to be ahead of [competitors] in technology,” Jonathan says. “It does wonders for a customer’s impression of your company.”
