As marketing chair for Milwaukee’s National Association of the Remodeling Industry (the country’s largest NARI chapter), Nick Kerzner’s interest in managing his company’s image comes as no surprise. While Nick’s father, Don, the company’s  founder, continues to maintain respected relationships with vendors and subs internally, Nick works on upgrading the company’s wider reputation.

“I have to market my company on reputation, longevity, and quality,” Kerzner says regarding the challenging competition in the Milwaukee market. “If I can do that, I’ll get those jobs that less-experienced contractors are underbidding. The ones I can’t get, I probably don’t want.”

Rather than print advertising and mailings, Kerzner has made a name for himself and the NARI  (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) chapter he represents as a go-to contact and “Construction Guru” for local TV news and radio segments on home improvement. “The news outlets feel confident because I’m so involved in the industry,” Kerzner says. “And if they call me up [at the last minute], I never say no. It’s image advertising.”
