Men at Work (MAW) was formed by two long-time remodelers who, after working together on a new-construction project, decided on a permanent partnership. “Firm believers” in contacts throughout the remodeling industry and other industries, they credit the contacts they have through the NAHB as having a lot to do with their success.
MAW completes a range of projects, including condominium upgrades, replacement work, and residential remodeling. It also ran the remodeling division for a large development company, eventually buying out the developer. This, combined with their link to the NAHB, enabled Nagel and Sevon to network with Bank of America on the FHA’s 203(k) loan program.
—The partners were in the NAHB’s first CAPS class and speak to all their clients about adding universal design to their projects.
—MAW accesses public records to send a tri-fold brochure to purchasers of new homes in the area.
—The company uses social media to stay in contact with clients, with Nagel writing a regular blog on topical ideas.
