The construction company that home builder Kevin Lindus and his wife, Emily, established more than three decades ago now involves all three of their sons.

It also includes five LeafGuard locations, spread across the Upper Midwest. Gutters greatly boosted the company’s sales, but a willingness to go in new directions, partner with other types of businesses such as real estate agents, implement new systems, and bring in consultants has raised the profile of Lindus Construction in the Twin Cities area.

“If you’re not constantly evaluating what you’re doing and how you’re doing it, the chances of getting better are slim,” says Andy Lindus, featured on area remodeling radio and TV programs.

One example: investments in sales training have resulted in a close rate of 43.5% across all product lines in 2010.
