The main showroom of Callier & Thompson Kitchens, Baths and Appliances is located in a competitive area. There's Home Depot Expo Center across the street, The Home Depot a mile away, and Lowe's a few miles down the road. Partners Gary Callier, Thompson Price (center), and David Callier welcome the comparison. “People who are leaving Expo stop at the light, see our sign, and come right over,” says Gary (far left). The company's service and professionalism draw an immediate response from customers. At this location, the company has 10 designers — eight are CKDs.

Ten years ago, Callier Kitchens merged with Thompson's House of K&B. At that time, each company had two showrooms. After the merger, the partners opened their 20,000-square-foot showroom with 15,000 square feet of displays and a 3,500-square-foot area where they sell appliances directly to customers. For appliance-only sales, they offer “red carpet” installations that include on-site alterations. “This was a way to grow our business with existing staff,” says Gary.
