When Reis and Laura Calfayan decided to restructure and incorporate five years ago, they had a grand plan in mind. “We decided that we were going to create a business that was not only an exceptional remodeling business but that could hopefully be a model for others,” explains Laura, company president.

For them, that starts with their employees. “We want to be able to offer top-notch employment so we can get great people working for us,” Laura says. “Then we can do really great work.”

Calfayan Construction Associates is committed to setting the pace for the remodeling industry. They are active in their community, doing work for nonprofit organizations. Reis (front, right) is on the board of his NARI chapter, and he teaches classes for the organization. “We want to change the image of contractors,” Laura says. “If we can all, as a group, get out there and be great at what we do, we can change the level of this profession. Let's set a standard.”
