In the world of insurance restoration, relationships are key. The Gohms understand the importance of making an impression. "We want to be the first on the scene," Chad (right) says. Once there, Gohm's estimators act as a shoulder to cry on, someone for distraught homeowners to talk to or vent about the insurance company. Gohm also will provide a customer care package -- filled with toiletries, flashlights, and other miscellaneous necessities -- to the family that just lost everything. "We turn around and give them something," Chad says.
Tim (center) had been in business on his own since 1979, but it wasn't until seven years ago, when sons Chad and Cory (a lead carpenter) got involved with the company that he started focusing on insurance restoration.
Gohm Insurance Restoration remains ahead of its competitors by staying on the cutting edge of the industry. Six employees are certified, and the company is about to purchase a board-up vehicle, which should help them get out to jobs more quickly. They're also purchasing a thermo-imaging camera, which no one in their market has.
